Checklist

  • Hire interpreters certified by a professional organization (eg. AIIC1 or CACI2).
  • Provide interpreters with copies of presentations, speeches, agenda, and other pertinent information, ideally 7 days before the event.
Consecutive interpretation, provide:
  • Make sure the interpreter is provided a seat positioned beside the speaker
  • Drinking water
Simultaneous interpretation, provide:
  • One interpretation booth for each language to be used during the conference
  • Professional sound equipment
  • Drinking water
  • One meeting room chair for each interpreter
Please note: Inside the booth, the table needs to have sufficient space for two sets of notepads, computers, water, and lighting.
